I'm a city girl who moved back to the 'burbs! I had been living in Chicago, but when my husband and I brought our new baby home to our tiny city apartment, we decided it was time for some space... Royal Oak, Michigan here we are! I am enjoying my new home, large backyard/garden, and starting up my private yoga business once again-this time, here in beautiful Michigan!
While in Chicago, I received my 200 hour teacher training from Core Power Yoga. After my initial teacher training, I continued my education with an additional three month extensions training program called XP at Core Power to further enhance my teaching skills and instruct community classes at the studio. I then went on to be trained in Prenatal Yoga through Global Yoga where I learned the safest ways to modify the practice for prenatal and postpartum students, as well as support students through their pregnancy journey. I taught group classes at a studio, Lagom RX West Loop, a few times a week. This is also the time where I started my own private practice of working with clients in their homes. Many people I worked with were recovering from an injury or starting yoga for the first time. Other clients had done yoga before, but wanted to be more consistent with the practice and have a weekly time set aside just for them. In 2017, I started teaching yoga in Michigan. In 2018, as our practice grew, I built a yoga space in our basement for private sessions. In 2020, we started doing yoga outside in my backyard due to the Covid-19 pandemic. I continue to teach with all clients' health and safety in mind. We are back to in-person training, but I am happy to have your sessions outside in the spring, summer or fall if you'd like. Now, my sessions are either at clients' homes or a gym space that I teach out of in Royal Oak. Before my yoga teaching life started, I was an elementary school teacher for 11 years. I have a masters degree in reading specialist/learning disabilities, as well as special education. I still tutor elementary and middle school students between yoga sessions because I love teaching and working with kids!! I am first and foremost a mommy! I have three beautiful boys at home and I love being a mom. In my free time, I like to do HITT classes and run. My husband and I enjoy going to our golf club, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. I appreciate the time to work in my garden and my constant effort to provide an environmentally friendly, sustainable lifestyle in our home. ❤REVIEWS❤
Antonette is incredibly kind, caring, and thoughtful. She explains things simply, makes me feel completely comfortable and puts her heart into her teaching. I always feel at ease with her and feel good in my body. I highly recommend her to anyone that is interested in learning yoga, deepening their practice, wanting to nurture or take better care of themselves, or women who are pregnant and wanting some nourishment! - - CW Mommy/baby yoga with Antonette was so fun!! I have been practicing yoga off and on for maybe 10 years but since having kids, I really wanted to take mommy/baby yoga. Antonette was awesome. She came to us and because my 6 month old was sleeping when she arrived, she first did some sequences for me. Then when he got up she used the cutest monkey stuffed animal to show me how to incorporate my 6 month old. She was very prepared, you could tell she planned ahead and yet she was flexible enough. It was SO much fun!! I highly recommend her for any level of yoga instruction. -MV Antonette gave my me confidence back. Her instruction is easy to follow, she is attentive and her teaching style is perfect for any level of practice. Her one-on-one session helped me to develop a practice that I could do at home, but also gave me the courage to step back into the studio after years without feeling ‘out of place’. I highly recommend her! -CK Antonette is wonderful! She has been coming to our house once a week to teach me and my fiancé. I wish I could fit in three times a week! She always asks how we’re feeling and makes sure to target our specific needs. She changes up her sessions every week so we always get something different. After a long day at work, I always feel amazing when we’re done. She also challenges us and explains everything so well. No prior yoga experience necessary! -LW Antonette is a wonderful yoga teacher! She has been teaching my family (including a 7 year old and 3 year old) for the past few months and it has been a wonderful experience. She is very patient and gentle with the kids but keeps them engaged with fun poses! So glad we found her!! -AK Antonette set up a specific yoga plan for my 12 year old son based on his need for more flexibility for sports. We saw almost immediate improvement. She works really well with kids and has taught my son why each position they use is important. My son always looks forward to going to his next session. -DO I highly recommend Antonette. I've been seeing her once a week in my home for the past few months and have seen really great progress in my practice for a short amount of time. I was a beginner and Antonette has been great (and patient) at teaching me the basics as a solid foundation for the more advanced goals we're working towards. -BM Love, love Antonette and her art! I attend alone or with my six year old daughter. I have a spinal injury, and just beat cancer! She has been so delicate with my issues while also encouraging me to be the best me! So sweet! -CM Antonette is awesome! She has worked with me for several months and customizes our sessions to my needs and growth. She even encourages my 8 year old to join in the fun! So thankful to have found her! -SW Antonette came to my home and gave my daughter and I a “mommy and me” session! It was so relaxing and fun! Antonette was great with my daughter and she happily chased her around as I was relaxing through my poses!! She made the experience great for us both! I love using what I have learned from Antonette with my daughter 💗💗 -JT My husband and I are in our 40's and trying yoga for the first time. Antonette made us feel very comfortable and took time to explain the steps well. My husband has A.S and is already seeing the benefits to yoga and we couldn't ask for a better teacher. -SL I have been taking yoga with Antonette for three years. She has done a great job teaching me at my own pace. I am in my 60's and working with an old injury. My flexibility has increased, but most importantly, my balance is so much improved. I really enjoy our weekly sessions and all the progress I've seen. I wasn't sure how I felt about starting yoga, but I'm sold! -SP I am a doctor and have a very busy schedule. Antonette comes to my house once a week to teach me yoga on my schedule. I am happy to get the much needed "me time" in the convenience of my own time and home. I really like her style and vibe. She was very concerned about keeping us safe during the pandemic, which I really appreciated how she modified our practice. -KR Wonderful yoga instructor, always watching and moving in the room to be sure clients are doing the moves correctly and safe. Gentle and tough classes, best music selection!! -ST I took a vinyasa class with Antonetta and it was a wonderful experience. The class was definitely challenging in the best way, but Antonetta provided modifications so I could adjust when needed. The atmosphere she created was very calming and relaxing. Highly recommend her classes! -JS We love doing yoga with Antonette! She’s incredibly knowledgeable and has the best presence! It’s been an amazing addition to our family workout routine. Highly recommend!! -AM Antonette is knowledgeable, compassionate and dedicated to her students growth. I've participated in small group classes, as well as, a private session with my mom who is in her 70's. She is very attentive to all ages and levels. Even the challenging classes leave me feeling calm and refreshed. -KK Love Antonette's classes! She teaches to the level of the students – with options for the more advanced in class. She is an open, warm teacher and her classes are comfortable for all levels of yogi as they are taught in a welcoming, safe, and non-competitive environment. She is skilled in a variety of yoga styles as well as stretching and she likes to keep things varied and interesting according to the students needs. -SJM I can’t recommend Antonette enough! She is extremely knowledgeable in yoga and has a true gift for teaching. Whether someone is brand new or experienced, she does a fantastic job explaining the terminology, guiding the flow, and helping everyone feel comfortable with the movements. Her classes bring a sense of peace and calmness that carries well beyond the studio. If you’re looking for personal training or yoga instruction, she is absolutely someone you should work with. -TM My wife and I have been going to Antonette's Sunday yoga classes at T3 for over a year. Each time I come away with such a feeling of calm. Her classes vary which is great and I feel that when she teaches classes that combine both stretching with an active yoga that my body comes away feeling very energized. Antonette projects real confidence and understanding of her craft but what I like most is her willingness to provide individualized attention to ensure proper technique--something many instructors that I have experienced in over 30 years of taking classes fail to do. Highly recommended. -AL Antonette is a wonderful yoga instructor who creates an inclusive and supportive environment for all her students. Antonette is a teacher at heart—she not only comes to class well-prepared, but she is also extremely warm, welcoming, and encouraging to everyone, no matter your level of experience. She offers a variety of classes, both in-studio and private, tailored to meet different needs and skill levels. I have taken in-studio classes with Antonette for over a year and have also done in-home family yoga with her, both of which have been incredible experiences. Every class feels supportive and uplifting and I always leave class feeling renewed. One of the things I love the most about her classes is that her instructions are clear and easy to follow, which is especially helpful when you are new to yoga. She always provides thoughtful guidance, cues, and encouragement through hands-on assistance and reminders to breathe more deeply or to stay in the present moment. Whether you’re new to yoga or more experienced, Antonette helps you feel comfortable, challenged, and inspired to grow in your practice. I can’t recommend her enough! -TK |
